Darbhanga, Aug 17(UNI) At least eleven civilians and four policemen were injured in a clash between two communities at Narkatia village under Simari police station area in the district today.
Deputy police superintendent Pankaj Daraj said the incident took place when some people pelted stones on a group of people passing through the Narkatia village.
When police tried to persuade the rival group to stop the stone pelting on each other, some people attacked the policemen, he said and added the police had to use mild force to control the situation.
Eleven local people and four policemen including officer-in- charge of Simari police station sustained injuries in the incident, he said adding the injured were rushed to local hospital.
Mr Daraj said additional reinforcement of two hundred policemen had been sent to the spot to intensify the patrolling in the area and claimed that the situation was well under control.
