Kerala on growth track: Achuthanandan

Kochi, Aug 16 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said the slew of development projects taken up by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government in the state were a testimony to the fact that the state was on the path of tremendous growth.

Addressing a gathering at a function organised to hand over land acquired for building rail and road connectivity for the proposed Vallarpadam International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) to Railway Nigam Limited and National Highway Authority here, Mr Achuthanandan said, ''the state was witnessing unprecedented comprehensive growth and the ICTT would be a milestone for the state.'' He said the LDF Government was giving due importance to the development and projects like ICTT, Vizhijam Terminal, Smart City would augur well for the state.

''The road blocks for Vizhinjam Port Project had been cleared and the project would be completed in the next three years,'' he noted.

He said steps were initiated to open IT parks in all the districts and a Cyberpark on the lines of Technopark and Infopark would be set up in Kozhikode.

Mr Achuthanandan also noted that the land acquisition process for an airport at Kannur was at the last stage.

Title deeds were distributed to people who were displaced for constructing rail and road connectivities to the ICTT.
