Gujarat police cracks Ahmedabad blasts case
{image-gujarat blasts_16082008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Lucknow, Aug 16: The Gujarat crime branch have cracked the July 26 serial bomb blasts of Ahmedabad that killed over 53 people and left more than 160 injured. The mastermind behind the serial blasts is Abu Bashar, a SIMI activist. He along with nine others suspected SIMI activists are also arrested, sources added. The arrested activists are charged with waging war against country.
The revelation was made by Abu Bashar, a suspected SIMI activist when he was picked up by the Uttar Pradesh anti-terror squad from Azamgarh of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, Aug 13. "Abu Bashir has named seventeen other SIMI activists. He could also be linked to Hyderabad blasts. We will soon crack the other serial bomb blasts case also", said P C Pandey, Gujarat DGP.

said
that
activists
had
a
meeting
on
January
14
and
15
in
Kerala,
Karnataka,
Surat
and
Bharuch.
A
total
of
105
suspects
were
questioned.
A
team
of
officers
from
the
Ahmedabad
police
is
already
on
its
way
to
Uttar
Pradesh's
capital,
Lucknow.
The other seven suspected SIMI activists were taken into custody in Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat. Fourty seven people yet to be arrested.
