Gulbarga, Aug 15 (UNI) Four hundred prisoners in the Gulbarga Central Prison observed a fast and boycotted the Independance Day celebrations demanding the Karnataka government release those who had completed eight years of their jail term.
The inmates expected that the state government would pass a G.O to release convicts who had completed the term, on account of Independence Day.
But the government did not take any decision over the release and the disappointed convicts observed the fast, jail superintendent D Sangappa said.
The jail authorities sent the list of prisoners eligible for release, but the government did not take any declion on it.
