Beijing, Aug 15: US swimmer Michael Phelps remains on course for a record eight gold medals after winning another event at the Beijing Olympics this morning.
The 23-year-old set another new world record as he won the 200-metre individual medley.He has now won six golds in the past six days and has two more events left to contest. Phelps also won six gold medals in Athens four years ago and is now the most successful Olympian in history. Phelps, whose current career haul of 12 Olympic gold medals is a record in itself, is set to overtake Spitz if he wins his remaining two races the 100m butterfly and 4x100m medley relay.
