Bhopal, Aug 15 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today honoured police, homeguard and jail department officers and officials by awarding President's police medal on the occasion of Independence Day.
He also bestowed revolvers as a prize to four police officers for their outstanding gallantry in anti-naxal campaign.
Mr Chouhan made the announcement of distributing revolvers to these police officers after the arrest of five notorious insurgents last year.
Deputy Inspector General (Intelligence) -- then Bhopal range DIG Anuradha Shankar, Assistant Inspector General (Planning Management) -- then Bhopal-posted Superintendent of Police A K Singh and AIG (Welfare) -- then Additional Superintendent of Police (Bhopal) Rajesh Singh Bhadoria received the revolvers.
Police had arrested five Andhra Pradesh-based ultras, who carried the reward of Rs lakh on their arrests, on the intervening night of January 10-11.
