Flag hoisted in Supreme Court
New Delhi, Aug 15 (UNI) Justice S H Kapadia today hoisted the national flag at the Supreme Court lawn in a function organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association on the occasion of 62nd Independence Day.
Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan could not attend the function as he is abroad.
Justice Kapadia who will be the next Chief Justice of India, said the fruit of growth and develpoment made by the country had not reached millions of people, living below the poverty line in remote corners of the country.
He pleaded for the inclusive growth and for equitable distribution of national wealth without which independence of the country would remain incomplete.
Other Supreme Court Judges who attended the function were Justice Altamas Kabir, Justice D K Jain , Justice A S Sirpurkar and Justice G S Singhvi.
The function was also attended by the SCBA office bearers, executive members and members of the Bar.
