Delhi wakes up to wet
New Delhi, Aug 15 (UNI) It was a cool morning that welcomed Delhiites on Independence Day today with overnight rain and a heavily overcast sky maintaining a coolness in the weather.
The overnight rain and cool winds brought down the minimum temperature to 25.2 degrees Celsius this morning, one degree below normal. While 42.7 mm of rainfall was recorded in the Safdarjung area till 0830 hrs, 47 mm was recorded in Palam.
The cool climes are likely to remain over the next couple of days with the weatherman forecasting more rain and thundershowers in the city during the next 24 hours.
The Met office has forecast a generally cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with rain and thundershowers in a few areas.
