London, Aug 15 : The rented property where Amy Winehouse is currently holed-up in her battle to kick drugs has a dark secret - a previous occupant died there.
An estate agent who rents properties in the area described her flat as a 'hellhole' with a grim air about it.
"You really wouldn't want to live there. It's being rented because it's a probate house. No-one wants to buy it as the previous owner died in it, but that doesn't seem to bother Amy," the Mirror quoted the agent, as saying.
The singer's flat is just off Kentish Town Road in Camden and the constant packs of paparazzi camped outside has been making local resident's lives miserable with the constant noise and comings and goings.
And if the credit crunch wasn't bad enough, Winehouse's presence is also affecting local house prices.
"A lot of people around there are complaining about here and no, I don't think her being there is helping prices at all, no," the agent said.
However, residents may soon be breathing a sigh of relief as the singer is planning to buy a house further out of central London in a bid to escape her druggie friends.
