Bomb alert call sends RP, BDDS into frenzy
Mumbai, Aug 15: Amid excitement of the 61st Independence Day celebrations in the city, Railway Police and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) went into a frenzy following a bomb alert call from a passenger on Thursday, Aug 14.
According to RP, Sachin Surve, who was travelling in a Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus bound train at around 2 am had overheard conversation between four of his co-passengers that ''Char Baje Ki pehali Habour Line Ki Local Train Ko Uda Denge'' (we will blow up the first harbour line local train at 0400 hrs.) Surve immediately got down at the next station and informed the police. Police and the BDDS thereafter launched a search operation in all the first trains leaving from CST, but found nothing suspicious, sources added.
