Chandigarh, Aug 14 (UNI) State Institute of Science Education (SCERT) Punjab, would conduct the state level merit scholarship examination on November 16 to select 2,210 students from class 8th in the state.
Stating this here today, a spokesman of the Punjab Education Department said that the successful students would get scholarship of Rs 6000 per month from class 9th to class 12th.
He said that only those students whose parents' annual income is less than Rs 1,50,000 would be eligible to sit in the examination.
To appear in the examination, the students should be studying in the state government schools, government aided and local bodies schools situated in Punjab, and should have secured minimum 55 per cent marks for general category and 50 per cent marks for SC/ST/Physically challenged students in 7th class annual examination.
He further added that admission forms could be downloaded from the website www.punjabeducation.gov.in. The admission forms duly filled in should reach the principal of the school (examination center) as given in the admission form by Sepetember 10.
