Rs 912 cr leather development programme cleared by Cabinet
New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) The Union Government today approved the Indian Leather Development Programme to be implemented at a cost of Rs 912.67 crore during the 11th Plan.
''The scheme would lead to development of infrastructure for the sector, and facilitate additional investment, employment generation and rise in production,'' Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi told mediapersons after the cabinet meeting that cleared the proposal.
The scheme also address environment concerns specific to the sector, he said.
