Classic board game Cluedo gets 21st century makeover
London, Aug 14 : Classic board game Cluedo has gone for a 21st century makeover. Marketing chiefs decided the murder-solving game, launched in 1946, was now too stuffy for modern tastes.
Out go old characters like Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum and the Reverend Green.
Replacements include film star Kasandra Scarlet, footie pundit Jack Mustard and video-game billionaire Victor Plum.
The house has been turned from a stately home into a Roman Abramovich-style mansion with a boardroom and spa instead of a library and ballroom.
And new murder weapons include a dumbbell, an axe and a baseball bat.
Makers Hasbro will release the new version by Christmas.
"It's bang up to date," The Sun quoted a rep, as saying.
