Bindra to meet President, PM

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) Abhinav Bindra, the first ever gold medalist in a solo event at the Olympics, will meet President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here today.

The 'Golden Boy' Bindra will first meet Sports Minister M S Gill and then President Patil followed by a meeting with Vice-President Hamid Ansari.

The Beijing Olympics gold medalist will also meet Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee and Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the evening.

Bindra will also address the mediapersons in the afternoon.

The ace shooter has created history by winning the gold medal in the men's 10-meter air rifle event for India at the Beijing Olympics on August 11.

Bindra, who arrived here last night, was received by his family amid tight security. Large crowd had gathered to see their hero's home coming.
