Mumbai, Aug 13 (UNI) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray today said from next Monday his party will complete the job, left incomplete by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation of changing the signboards of shops to Marathi.

Speaking to mediapersons here after meeting the civic chief Jairaj Pathak, Raj said ''from August 18, we will start our work in our own way.'' He said ''the corporation will fine them and do whatever they want, but we will do it our way''. When asked about his action, he said he would not say anything now and will act when the rules are not followed.

Referring to Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the MNS chief said ''such questions are never raised in these states and the shopkeepers and others quietly follow the rules, but the same is questioned here.'' Raj said the signboards should be in proper Marathi Devnagri script and anything else will not be tolerated.

The MNS chief said he was told by people of various establishments like McDonald's and others that their boards were very costly, ''The shop owners have to decide whether their shops are costlier or their boards'', he added.
