Want to chat in your language, use Google talk
Bangalore, Aug 12: Now, feel at home even though you are in a foreign country by chatting with your friends and family in your native language. Google has some good news with the introduction of Googe talk that has transliterate bots. These bots will convert text from English to Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil or Telugu. Transliteration is a service by Google India that allows you to type in in Indian languages using phonetically equivalent English script (it is also available on our labs page, orkut scraps and blogger).
The procedure is simple enough. If you are chatting in hindi and you type 'haal kaisa hai janab ka?' the [email protected] bot will produce in Hindi as 'हाल कैसा है जनाब का?'. At present there are five transliteration bots - Hindi (en2hi.translit), Kannada (en2kn.translit), Malayalam (en2ml.translit), Tamil (en2ta.translit) and Telugu (en2te.translit), and remember that their names end with '@bot.talk.google.com'.
