Train accident averted
Tirupati, Aug 13 (UNI) A major train accident was averted, when the Tirupati-Chennai Garudadri express was stopped just in time following a welding failure on the track between Renigunta and Pudi stations near here today.
According to Railway sources here, the engineering staff, who were on regular duty, alerted the driver of the express.
The driver then acted swiftly and stopped the train near Pudi station, avoiding a major derailment .
Later, the train left one hour late after the engineering staff attended the track welding work, the sources added.
