Pune-based PNG Jewellers to go global
Pune, Aug 13 (UNI) Setting their sight on Hollywood, Pune-based PNG Jewellers today announced their foray into the international market with the opening of their store at Sunnyvale in California, at a cost of USD two million later this month.
Addressing a press conference here, Saurabh Gadgil, Partner PNG, said that initially they will design and supply the jewellery catering to the Indian and Western needs, from India. Later, they intend to source necklaces from Singapore and bangles from Dubai apart from Bangkok and Hong Kong.
''All the formalities starting from calling the company as 'PNG Inc', clearances from the bankers and city corporation, have been completed and we are set to attend to three lakh Indians and Westerners,'' he said.
When asked about the promotions, Mr Saurabh said, ''Soon the Statue of Liberty will be seen draped in a saree in our advertisements. Besides we will also cater to a calendar activity like Mother's Day, Father's Day and several other occasions to popularise the brand.'' The PNG had bagged the Best Gold Jewellery-2008 award for ''Bella-the flower collection'', for the third consecutive year. The collection was selected the winner from among 5,000 entries country wide in the Retail Jewellery Category by the World Gold Council.
