Old man dies of heart attack during chakka jam
Ambala, Aug 13 (UNI) A 70-year-old villager, who suffered heart attack today and was held up on way to hospital during the VHP-sponsored Chakka Jam here, died later in the day.
Septuagenarian Genda Ram, complaining of severe chestache, was being rushed from Nohni village to a hospital in the town in an autorickshaw, when he was stopped by the protesters.
After pleadings by the relatives and in view of the patient's deteriorating condition, a VHP activist conceded to carry the old man on his back to a nearby nursing home.
The nursing home staff, after giving him a brief treatment, sent Genda Ram back to his home, where he died after a few hours.
