Lucknow, Aug 13 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav has condemned the police firing upon the farmers at Greater Noida and demanded an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for each bereaved family.
Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Yadav claimed that at least 10 farmers have died and 110 injured, 15 of them critically, in the violence.
The SP leader alleged that some bodies have been thrown into the river, which would be removed by the police on getting a chance.
He demanded that the accused officials should be sent behind the bars under the murder charges.
Lambasting the Mayawati government in the state, irked Mr Yadav said the police resorted to firing upon the farmers, who were demonstrarting in a peaceful manner.
