John Abraham joins PETA to save Victoria horses
Mumbai, Aug 13 (UNI) Model-turned actor John Abraham and PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) have urged district collector to ban the horse-drawn carriages -- Victorias and tongas to relieve the horses suffering from the city's toxic pollution, overwork and inhuman treatment.
According to PETA investigation report released during a press conference here today, the horses are fed with unwholesome feed and dirty drinking water. The stables are often damp, filthy, and filled with flies and other biting insects, with many horses left to stand without shade amid their own faeces and urine, the report said.
In a letter addressed to the district collector, John had requested that the matter be handled with compassion.
