Jeev up by seven places to 59th in World Rankings

By Staff

New Delhi, Aug 13 (UNI) Jeev Milkha Singh's tied ninth finish in last week's USPGA Championship, which was also the best ever finish by an Indian at a major, helped him climb seven rungs to 59 in the World Golf Rankings.

The Chandigarh lad, who was ranked 66 before the USPGA championship, is now nearing the list of top-50 golfers.

However, Jeev's best ranking so far has been 37, achieved after winning four championships in 2006.

On the other hand, Jyoti Randhawa has been down by four places, dropping from 88th to 92 in the rankings.

Now Jeev's next venture is the USPGA Tour's Wyndham Championship, to be held this week at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
