Srinagar, Aug 13 (UNI) The authorities today extended curfew relaxation till 1700 hrs in summer capital Srinagar and Badgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, despite massive protests at several places, forcing the security forces and police to fire in the air and burst teargas shells.
Earlier, the curfew was relaxed from 0800 hrs to 1100 hrs and later extended to 1400 hrs.
However, the situation on the ground was totally different as security forces deployed on the streets were allowing only those who were holding curfew passes.
The streets wore a deserted look after 1400 hrs as security force were not allowing people to move without curfew passes.
Similar checks were being conducted at Batmaloo, Maisuma and near Iqbal park.
A youth was injured when security forces at Bemina fired upon him while he was coming out from a local mosque.
Earlier, people of the area protested against the security forces who allegedly damaged window panes of the mosque.
