New Delhi, Aug 13 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today launched an anti-corruption campaign through SMS in the capital, asking people to inform the agency if any official demanded bribes from them.

Mobile service providers--MTNL, Idea, Tata, Reliance, Vodafone and others--have been asked to send the message to all their subscribers once, free of cost, a CBI spokesman said.

''If a Central/Dehi Government/PSU /Bank employee demands bribe for any official work in Delhi, pl contact SP, CBI at 24361535/3541/2494 or 99680812/16/17/18,'' the message received by several subscribers today said.

The agency will first gauge the response from the public and decide to replicate it in other cities, he said.

The campaign had been first attempted in Mumbai where it had received a tremendous response, he said.
