Ten Sports to telecast Wyndham Golf Championship live

By Staff

Mumbai, Aug 12 (UNI) Ten Sports will be bringing live action from the Wyndham Golf Championship, where hot on the heels of his best-ever finish in a major championship, India's Jeev Milkha Singh will continue his quest on the US PGA Tour.

Jeev, who finished tied ninth at last week's PGA Championship at Oakland Hills - the first-ever top-10 finish in a major by an Indian golfer - is suffering from a badly sprained right ankle. He played 35 holes on the final day of the weather-hampered PGA Championship after popping in as many as eight pain-killer pills, but is looking forward to the Wyndham Championship, a release issued here today stated.

''The ankle is a bit of a worry at the moment, but I am committed to play the Wyndham Championship and will take a much-needed break after that. Despite the pain, I am quite optimistic about my chances because I am playing really well at the moment, and I hope to carry on the momentum into this week,'' Jeev said from Greensboro.

The tournament starts from Thursday, August 14, and live coverage of the opening round on Ten Sports starts at 0130 hrs IST on August 15. The live coverage of the final two days will begin an hour earlier, at 0030 hrs IST, the release added.
