New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) Hit by rising fares, only 3.08 million domestic passengers flew by Indian carriers in July, about 4,50,000 less than in the previous month, according to offical data released today.
The Civil aviation Ministry data said the total passengers carried by domestic scheduled airlines in the January-July was 25.861 million--3.534 million in June and 3.085 million in July.
While the market share of Air India, Jet Airways, Kingfisher, Jetlite and Paramount increased from 16.4 per cent, 21.2 per cent, 14.3 per cent, 8.1 per cent and 1.3 per cent in June to 18.3 per cent, 23.5 per cent, 15.4 per cent, 8.3 per cent and 1.6 per cent, respectively in July, the market share of the other airlines decreased marginally during the month.
During July, Air India (Domestic) carried 5,56,000 passengers, Jet Airways 7,17,000, Kingfisher 4,69,000, Deccan 3,45,000, IndiGo 3,20,000, SpiceJet 2,55,000, Jet Lite 2,53,000, GoAir 75,000, Paramount 49,000 and MDLR 7,000.
The seat factors during the month were: Air India (Domestic) 55.5 per cent, Jet Airways 67.9 per cent, JetLite 60.4 per cent, Air Deccan 49.2 per cent, Kingfisher Airlines 63.3 per cent, SpiceJet 57.8 per cent, GoAir 76.9 per cent, Paramount Airways 76.1 per cent, IndiGo 59.0 percent and MDLR 50.2 per cent.
