New Delhi, Aug 12 : In an effort to keep the election machinery well oiled in poll-bound states, the Election Commission reviewed the preparations with the Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Mizoram.
Assembly polls in these states are due later this year as also in Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir.
The EC would review the preparations in these two states shortly.
In the day's meeting, the Commission took stock of the readiness of these four states with regard to preparation of electoral identity cards, electoral rolls, electronic voting machines besides the law and order situation, EC sources said on Tuesday.
The term of the assembly in Chhattisgarh comes to an end on 21st December, while that of Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram on 14th December, and Rajasthan on 14th January next year.
