London, Aug 12 : Brit couple Rebecca D'Madeiros and Bill Duda are so obsessed with Star Wars that they had their wedding themed on the blockbuster.
The couple tied the knot in their backyard in Portland, Oregon in June (08).
The two, who are 36-years-old and ardent fans of the sci-fi movie, requested their friends and family members to dress up as characters from the films for the wedding, which both had spent months planning.
"Rebecca and I are massive fans of the films and when were planning the wedding we thought why not Star Wars?", the Telegraph quoted Duda, a schoolteacher as saying.
"It was a lot of fun - after all, it's not everyday you get to be married by Yoda," he added.
The bride and groom were dressed as the characters Mon Mothma and Admiral Ackbar and they were led out of their house and into the garden by a line of Imperial Stomtroopers.
"The wedding was so informal at the start but obviously when the actual ceremony took place people became at bit more respectful," said Justin Winokur, 33, who was there to photograph the event.
"The wedding was presided over by Yoda, who had secured his marriage licence off the Internet in the weeks beforehand and the ring bearer was none other than Princess Leia, sporting her famous gold bikini," he stated.
As the ceremony got underway, the wedding guests were encouraged to really get into the swing of things.
"You have never seen people more excited to be dressed up in Star Wars gear. Everybody totally got into the swing of things," said Mr Winokur.
"It created a sense of unity and excitement.
"There was no division of the wedding guests between the Jedi and the Empire but that would have been a pretty neat idea if we could have done that," he added.
