CM wants speedy disposal of cases of atrocities on SC/ST
Hyderabad, Aug 12 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials concerned to ensure speedy disposal of cases pertaining to atrocities on SCs and STs in the state.
According to a release here, Dr Reddy, chairing the third state-level high power meeting of the Vigilance and Monitoring Committee on Prevention of Atrocities on SCs and STs, also instructed them to file chargesheets immediately and investigate cases at a faster pace to render justice to the victims at the earliest.
The Chief Minister agreed to the members' suggestion to appoint a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) exclusively for investigating such cases and to appoint a DySP in the districts where large number of such cases were registered.
The Chief Minister agreed to provide pre-metric scholarships to the SC/ST day-scholars.
