CLP ridicules Naidu's remarks on YSR's padayatra
Hyderabad, Aug 12 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today took objection to TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu for expressing anger on the media for inadequate coverage of his 'Meekosam Yatra' and comparing it with the 2004 'Praja Prastanam Padayatra' of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Addressing the press with MLC R Padmaraju and others, Government Chief Whip N Kiran Kumar Reddy said while Mr Naidu held the yatra with a political motive in an airconditioned bus, Dr Reddy, while in the Opposition, covered 1,475 km across the State to highlight various issues affecting the public including power and drought.
Mr Naidu also planned to cut short his tour due to large scale defections from his party, he alleged.
Refuting Mr Naidu's allegations on the Chief Minister receiving Rs five as commission on every bottle of IMFL sold, Mr Reddy said the TDP President had no right to talk about Excise Policy as he 'failed' to face inquiry into cases booked against him in connection with a liquor scandal during his tenure.
