Ashram of mentally challenged
Kapurthala, Aug 12 (UNI) Mentally challenged children living in a Ashram near Railway station were evacuated when the ashram was flooded with four-to-five feet of water.
The heavy down pour today flooded the many low lying areas of the town under one to two feet of water.
The children were taken out of the Sukhjit Ashram in a tractor trolley and shifted to a safer place at State Gurdwara under the supervision of SDM G S Khera.
Rain water also entered the houses in Ajit Nagar,Guru Nanak Nagar, Adarsh nagar, Devi Talab and Churwal areas .
Meanwhile, many panic stricken people living in the mand areas in the Desal village have shifted to safer places on the Dhussi Bundh, according to reports reaching here.
