ACB unearths over Rs 1 cr assets from govt official

Hyderabad, Aug 12 (UNI) Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 1.07 crore during simultaneous raids at the office and residence of the Gazetted Personal Assistant (Non-Technical) to Engineer-in-Chief, Public Health, in the city.

The ACB registered a case against M Srisailam after conducting raids at different places covering his office and residence at Vivekananda Nagar, Dilsukhnagar in the city.

Assets include a house at Vivekananda Nagar, Gaddiannaram, Dilsukhnagar and two apartments in D D Colony and Lakdikapool, two house plots at Saraswathinagar, Saidabad and Singareni colony, immovable properties worth Rs 1.78 crore, according to a official release here.

He was found in possession of cash of Rs 21,000, 425 gm of gold worth Rs four lakh, 7.5 kg of silver articles worth Rs 15,000, household articles worth Rs 1.70 lakh and movable assets worth Rs 6.36 lakh. The disproportinate assets in the possession of the accused are to the tune of Rs 1.07 crore.

The search is in progress. Some more details of bank balance are awaited, the release said.

The accused has been arrested. He would be produced before Principal Special Judge for SPE&ACB Cases, Hyderabad, it added.
