Two killed, 150 injured in Kashmir
Srinagar, Aug 11 (UNI) Two people were killed and more than 150 others, including about 20 police and security personnel, were injured in day-long clashes at different parts of the Kashmir valley today.
Security forces and police opened fire, burst teargas shells and resorted to lathicharge to disperse processionists who were trying to join the Muzaffarabad march at different places in the Kashmir valley today, resulting in the death of two persons and injuries to more than 150 people, including about 20 security personnel.
The Muzaffarabad March call was given by both factions of the Hurriyat Conference (HC) as the Kashmir Fruit Growers Association (KFGA) has said they would take their fruit trucks to the Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) through Jhelum Valley road in protest against the economic blockade and attacks on Kashmiri truck drivers in Jammu.
The HC has now appealed to the people to continue march tomorrow also. Reports of massive protests and clashes between processionists and security forces are being received from different parts of the valley.
