TTFI, HOA, INLD congratulate Bindra; says its a good beginning

Chandigarh, Aug 11 (UNI) The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI), Haryana Olympic Association (HOA) and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) today lauded ace shooter Abhinav Bindra for the first-ever gold medal in any individual category in 108-years of Indian Olympic history.

INLD president Chaudhary Om Parkash Chautala, TTFI president Ajay Singh Chautala and HOA president Abhey Singh Chautala contralutated the 25-year-old Bindra for his historic achievement.

''With this win, Bindra has made all the people of the country proud,'' Chautala told mediapersons. He also announced that the INLD would organise a huge function to honour Bindra so that the younger generation could get an inspiration from him.

TTFI and HOA have also decided to join in the function to honour the 2006 World Champion.

He further said,''this is a 'Golden Day' for the sportspersons of the country. Bindra's performance would lift the success-starved country immensely and would prove to be a huge incentive in making the country a sports super-power.'' Singing Bindra's praise, Indian Boxing Federation (IBF) president Abhey Chautala said, ''India has been able to achieve only very few individual medals in Olymics but now Bindra has made a good beginning, more players would also bring medals in this Olympics.'' He added that he was hopeful of some more medals in events like Boxing, Badminton, Tennis at the Olympics.
