SHO's house torched police station attacked in Baramulla

Baramulla, Aug 11 (UNI) Violent mob tonight set on fire the house of a Station House Officer (SHO) of police station Sheeri, allegedly involved in the firing on processionists in which senior separatist leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz was killed.

Thousands of people took to streets after hearing about the death of Mr Aziz in the firing, allegedly ordered by the SHO Kursheed Khan.

The mob later set on fire the house of Mr Khan and also attacked the police station.

Later, police fired in the air and burst dozens of teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators, raising slogans against the administration and hindu communal forces.

Reports of late night demonstrations were also received from other areas in the district.
