Mysore, Aug 11 (UNI) Putting an end to tiresome paper work, Karnataka Transport Department has decided to go hi-tech within 15 days, state Transport Commissioner Bhaskar Rao said today.
Addressing the divisional level meeting here, he said several measures were initiated in this direction. The department officials were instructed to ensure that all the RTO offices were made hi-tech.
He assured that all necessary equipment, including computers would be provided to the department officials. They would be able to disseminate all necessary informations at the click of a mouse.
There should be no violation of norms while issuing licenses, permits and fitness certificates to various vehicles.
Stating that more than 21 fatal accidents were taking place in the state every day, Mr Rao said the officials were asked to take up awareness programmes on road safety and suggested involving NGOs, NSS and NCC in the programme.
