Huge demand for low cost house scheme, 1.10 lakh forms sold

New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) Expressing satisfaction over the response being received for the Delhi Government's low cost housing scheme, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said application forms of low-cost houses are in big demand with nearly 1.10 lakh forms sold during the first five days of sale.

1,09,632 forms have been sold during the first five days of sale of application forms with maximum sale of 28,086 forms recorded on August 9.

The sale of forms has been increasing day-by-day - 11,982 forms were sold on August 5, 19,048 on August 6, 24,992 on August 7 and 25,587 forms were sold on August 8, 2008. Maximum number of 19,251 forms have been sold in North-West District whereas lowest number of 2814 have been sold in New Delhi District. In Central District 15,811 forms have been sold, 15,498 in South District, 15,530 in South-West District, 12,452 in North-East, 10,899 in East District, 10,235 in West District and 7142 in North District.

Expressing satisfaction over response being received from the urban poor and residents of JJ clusters, Ms Dikshit said scrutiny of forms would be started soon after last date (September 5) of submission of filled in forms. The sale of forms from 54 Centres across the city would continue till August 14.

Filled in forms will be received between 18th August to September 5 at all 54 Centres.

The city-government will construct around four lac low-cost flats under JNNURM within next two/three years. ten thousand flats are ready for allotment at Bawana and Bapraula.
