Patna, Aug 11(UNI) BJP today demanded immediate dismissal of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad from the union cabinet for allegedly providing jobs unlawfully to many landowners in Bihar.
Taking strong exception to a recent newspaper report about the alleged transfer of land in the name of several family members of Mr Prasad in lieu of railway jobs, BJP state spokesperson Vinod Narayan Jha reiterating the party's demand to the Prime minister, described Mr Prasad's work as a 'black spot' on the Indian democracy.
'' Several more scams would be exposed if the Railway minister's decisions were thoroughly probed,'' Mr Jha claimed and said Mr Prasad had already spent some years in jail in connection with the multi-crore rupee fodder scam and disproportionate asset scam--an off-shoot of the fodder scam.
'' As such, since the beginning the BJP was against the induction of Mr Prasad in the union cabinet as it felt that would only glorify corruption,'' Mr Jha claimed.
Meanwhile, former Rajya Sabha MP Janardan Yadav today joined the BJP alongwith several of his supporters.
