Bindra wins first individual gold for India at Olympics

Beijing, Aug 11 (UNI) Abhinav Bindra created history as he won the first individual gold for India at the Olympics in the men's 10m air rifle here today.

Bindra aggregated a total of 700.5 which included 596 points in the qualifying round and 104.5 points in the final round to edge past Athens Olympics' gold medallist Zhu Qinan (699.7) of China who won the silver.

Finland's Henri Hakkinen finished third with 699.4 points.
