178 trucks with essentials arrive in Srinagar on Sunday
Srinagar, Aug 11 (UNI) As many as 178 trucks carrying essential commodities arrived here, while 423 trucks departed for Lower Munda towards Jammu yesterday afternoon, an official spokesman said today.
He said the trucks and tankers loaded with rice, flour, sheep, chicken, LPG, diesel, petrol, kerosene oil arrived here from Jammu during the past 24 hours till 1400 hrs yesterday.
These included 20 trucks loaded with LPG, 39 rice, 16 sheep, 12 diesel, eight petrol, three kerosene oil, nine flour, six fresh fruit and 62 with other commodities.
He said during the same period 423 trucks departed from Lower Mundda towards Jammu and other destinations.
Of these, 138 trucks were loaded with fruits, 23 with vegetables, 33 with other commodities and 51 empty tankers.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, said that the administration made available 70 trucks for transportation of fruit from Sopore Mandi yesterday. However, he added that fruit load of only 20 trucks was available in the Mandi.
He said the National Highway was unobstructed for smooth movement of trucks and other load carriers.
