Widespread rainfall expected in state
Bhopal, Aug 10: Courtesy a low-pressure area built over the Bay of Bengal, widespread rainfall was expected in Madhya Pradesh in the next three-four days.
In an official release issued here on Sunday, Aug 10 Regional Meteorological Department Director D P Dubey predicted heavy rainfall at a few places in the next 48 hours.
The low-pressure area is centered around coastal area of Orissa and is moving towards Madhya Pradesh causing downpours.
Monsoon remained active in Rewa, Sagar, Jabalpur and Bhopal divisions overnight. Bohriband received 19 cm rainfall, followed by Jabalpur (11), Sagar (10) and Damoh (9).
Showers accompanied by lightning were predicted at almost all the places in Rewa, Sagar, Jabalpur, Indore, Bhopal and Hoshangabad divisions and several places in other divisions.
The state capital received showers last night and this morning.
The city witnessed cloudy day with intermittent rainfall.
