SRM University ventures into 'Semester Abroad Programme'
Chennai, Aug 10 (UNI) The SRM University has ventured into an ambitious 'Semester Abroad Programme' under which students would be sent to foreign Universities to study one semester.
After studying one semester at the Foreign University the students would return to continue their studies and earn their degree at the SRM University, a University release here said.
The programme has been planned in such a way that at any point of time, 100 SRM students would be studying in foreign Universities, it said.
Under this programme, the second set of students would be going to Universities like MIT, UC Davis, University of Wisconsin, University of Warwick, UK, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan for the fall semester in August 2008.
The SRM University will offer financial support to the students, the release added.
The second 'Semester Abroad Program' is to be held at 1130 hrs on August 12 at the University Auditorium, SRM University.
Frederick J Kaplan, Acting Consul General and Public Affairs Officer, United States Consulate, Chennai, would be the chief guest and inaugurate the programme and SRM University Chancellor T R Pachamuthu would preside.
