Nagpur, Aug 10 (UNI) The local administration has proposed to install a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system to monitor the security inside the MLA Hostel in the winter capital of Maharashtra.
The issue was discussed at a high-level meeting, presided over by A N Kalse, Principal Secretary in the state legislature secretariat, here on Friday, official sources said. The district collector would shortly submit a formal proposal to the state government in this regard.
The meeting was held to review the preparations for the forthcoming winter session of the state legislature, scheduled to commence here on November 17. The legislature secretariat would begin functioning in Nagpur from November 11.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has already submitted a proposal to the state government for the construction of permanent residential quarters, on BOT (build, operate, transfer) basis, for the officers and employees who camp in Nagpur for the winter session every year. The department has submitted another proposal for the construction of a new building in the premises of the Council Hall.
Mr Kalse issued instructions to the administration to get the MLA Hostel, the employees' residential quarters and the other facilities in the Council Hall ready in time for the session.
