Cricket betting den busted, 3 bookies held
Nagpur, Aug 10 (UNI) Police have arrested three bookies and are looking out for two others here for allegedly accepting bets on the third cricket test match between India and Sri Lanka, being played in Colombo.
Acting on a tip-off, police last afternoon raided a cricket betting den, allegedly being operated from a shop and nabbed Mohammed Kamal Mohammed Jangir (37), Neeraj Dinkar Wadhaliya (34) and Vishal Narmadaprasad Shukla (25). However, two others, identified as Vickesh Kailas Joshi (18) and Shailesh Shastri, managed to escape, police said.
Cash worth Rs 5,000 and other materials, including a colour television set, a laptop, 33 mobile phones, a printer and two calculators, collectively worth Rs 1.30 lakh, were also seized from the den, police said.
