Jaipur, Aug 10 (UNI) AICC General Secretary and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today claimed that strong anti-government sentiment was prevailing among people in the state and the Congress was all set to form government after the Assembly elections due to be held in November.
Talking to reporters here Mr Gehlot said he had so far toured 28 of the 33 districts in the state and everywhere he had found people unhappy over the failures of the corruption-ridden Vasundhara Raje Government.
Mr Gehlot asserted that during the regime of the present government a number of scams had come to lights, bureaucracy and even the Chief Minister herself had lost credibility and goodwill among people, the government failed to keep the commitments made by Ms Raje during the last elections.
He alleged that after committing several scams in land allotments and other key industrial and investment deals, the Raje government in nexus with some senior bureaucrats had committed Rs 100-crore scam in Bhamashah financial empowerment scheme to favour certain private firms.
He demanded an inquiry by the CBI in this scam.
The former Chief Minister also took strong exception to Chief Minister's move of inviting to the CM Residence, tainted tantrik Chandraswami who was named in Rajiv Gandhi assassination conspiracy case, for performing occult rituals.
He also condemned Ms Raje for presenting Rs 5,100 to religious heads of 'mutts' or shrines on the occasion of Guru Purnima and said this was a political gimmick being played keeping an eye on the Assembly polls.
