IIT Prof opts out as HNB Garhwal Univ VC
Dehra Dun, Aug 9: IIT Delhi Prof H K Seghal has opted out as vice-chancellor of the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Uttarakhand citing personal reasons, a Raj Bhawan official said today.
Prof Seghal had sent a letter to the Governor yesterday, citing personal reasons for his decision, Raj Bhawan information officer Nitin Upadhayay told UNI.
The IIT professor, presently with the Physics Department of IIT-Delhi, was appointed at the new post by Governor B L Joshi last month and would have succeeded Prof S K Singh.
