I am not wasting time, Karunanidhi replies to S Ramadoss
Chennai, Aug 9 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today dismissed as ''disinformation campaign'', that he was spending more time participating in film-related functions.
Answering a set of questions, Mr Karunanidhi denied charges that he was spending time to write scripts for films.
Referring to his recent film ''Uliyin Osai'', he said the film was based on a story he had written 30 years ago but some people were trying to give an impression that he had spent a long time to pen the story and dialogues.
Similarly, his films like ''Mannin Maindan'' and ''Kannamma'' were also based on his stories, written sometime ago and he had given only the rights to the producers to make films based on the stories.
On PMK leader Dr S Ramadoss's charge that he was wasting time by participating in too many film-based functions, Mr Karunanidhi said if he had not wasted time when he took part in functions organised on behalf of PMK, when it was in alliance with the DMK, now also, he was not wasting time.
Participating in film-related functions was not a sin, he said, adding he was also participating in other general and official functions.
Two days ago, he undertook a tour to the southern districts, to inaugurate Tuticorin Municipal Corporation, unveiled the statue of former Speaker P T R Palanivel Rajan and felicitate veteran playback singer T M Soundararajan in Madurai. Today also he was visiting suburban Avadi to take part in an official function, he added.
