Goa Calangute PO to be renewed under 'project arrow'
Panaji, Aug 9 (UNI) Calangute post office in North Goa has been selected for the much hyped ''project arrow'' scheme that would provide the customers with improved postal services.
''The project envisages drastic improvements in services, through state-of-the-art facilities, besides better look and ambiance, along with trained and courteous staff. The working hours would also be extended for the benefit of common man,'' Chief Post Master General of Maharashtra and Goa circle M S Bali said while interacting with mediapersons here today.
Mr Bali said the project began with 50 offices in 10 postal circles in the country, to be completed by this month end to the satisfaction of the customers at all levels.
Five post offices had been chosen under the phase one in Maharashtra, he said.
Action for readying 450 more post offices under the project under the second phase of the project would begin on August 31, he said.
Mr Bali said Mapusa, Ponda and Canacona post offices in Goa would come under the second phase.
