Explosion in scrap, boy injured in Jamnagar
Jamnagar, Aug 9 (UNI) A 15-year-old boy was injured seriously when a cylindrical object, among the scrap, exploded in the old city area today.
According to police, the boy, identified as Prakash, deals in scrap business. This afternoon, he was rummaging through the scrap with a hammer, when a cylindrical object exploded injuring him seriously. His two fingers were shattered in the explosion.
The local people immediately informed police about the incident who admitted the boy to civil hospital here.
Forensic experts and others were taking no chances and searching the site, they added.
Police officials, however, have ruled out any possibility of terror-link to the explosion.
Police as well as locals said such explosions in metal scrap were common. Jamnagar has a substantial business in metal scrap.
