Raipur, Aug 9 (UNI) The Congress today launched a ten-day statewide 'Gaddi Choro Andolan' in Chhattisgarh and would stage sit-in and demonstrations at block, tehsil and district headquarters-level against the Raman Singh regime.
Congress state President Dhanendra Sahu took part in the agitation at Jagdalpur, Working President Charandas Mahant here, his counterpart Satyanarayan Sharma at Bilaspur and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Mahendra Karma at Ambikapur also participated.
Assembly polls are scheduled later this year.
''The Raman Singh government turned Nelson's eye on the common man's interests, tribals and encouraged corruption. Central development funds were indiscriminately distributed and people associated with the regime benefitted,'' Mr Sahu said.
